For just a moment, we’d like to have a conversation about sustainability and what it means to us at The Watershed Cafe. This term, and all that it represents, has been the heart of the restaurant since our start in 2014. Sustainability is the driving force that guides and inspires our every decision.

For The Watershed Cafe, sustainability refers to life-long practices that promote the long-term health and well-being of animals, land, and people. Through our day-to-day activities, we strive to be more deeply connected to the Earth and to each other.

Our restaurant is as much about our staff as it is about the food. Encouraging and supporting our staff’s health and well-being is vital for our sustainability. Many of our staff members have been with us for years, a rare feat in the restaurant industry. We are incredibly thankful for our hard-working, dedicated, valuable staff. We respect each individual, and provide an invigorating environment for each of our staff to be themselves, to grow, and to reach their full potential.

For us at The Watershed Café, sustainability is an interconnected, complicated, ever-changing, living, breathing organism we nurture and adapt to. Sustainability means we experience and move through seasonal and environmental changes, bountiful harvests and food shortages, small moments, great moments, hard times and good times for a long time. Thank you all for being a part of our sustainable journey!
